Why did you come to this page?

Maybe it’s curiosity?

Maybe it’s genuine interest?

Whatever the reason is, you should know that

this moment is divinely orchestrated by the creator of the universe.

That may seem a little dramatic, but don’t let that distract you from seeing the true purpose.

First, know that God loves you!

John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him”

The Bible says that we are all created by God in His image.

Genesis 1:27
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

The Bible also says that ALL are born separated from God because of sin.

Psalm 51:5
 “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me” (NIV).
Romans 5:12
“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned” 
Ephesians 2:3
“All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath”

Sin left mankind in a fatal predicament.

Every one of us will stand before God one day.

Think about it, the sum of your…

choices

thoughts

desires

… will tell the story of whether or not you’ve met the standard to enter heaven.

What is the standard?

It’s not

“I tried my best”

It’s not

“my good outweighs my bad”

It’s not

“I’m not as bad as I used to be”

It’s not

“I’m better than most people”

The standard is perfection.

Absolute perfection. Zero sin. That is God’s holy standard.

So let me ask you…

  • How does that sound?
  • How do you think you would do?
  • What about the people you love?
  • Do any of us meet that standard?

If we’re honest, the answer is obvious.

NO!

Not even close!

There has only ever been one person who met God’s perfect standard:

Jesus — the Son of God.

Jesus lived the perfect life we couldn’t.
On that cross, he paid the penalty for our sin,
and then offered us His righteousness as a gift.

2 Corinthians 5:21
“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
1 Peter 1:24
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness”.

And fortunately for us, the way we receive this gift of salvation isn’t by working harder or trying to be “good enough.” Then it wouldn’t be a gift, would it?!

Ephesians 2:8–9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of your own yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

From the beginning, God knew we could never reach His standard on our own.
So He didn’t lower the standard…

He sent Someone who could meet it for us.

Jesus

Met the standard of perfection

Jesus

paid the price for our sin

Jesus

Offers His righteousness to anyone who trusts in Him

Why would He do this? Why would He give His life for us?

Because He loves us, all of us!

Which brings us back to the scripture verses we started in…

John 3:16-17

So maybe this moment feels random…

But maybe it’s God reaching out to you…
offering a perfect righteousness that isn’t yours,
a salvation you could never earn,
and a love that has never been random.
